Born in a working class family in Saigon, Quynh - a quiet, diligent 17 year old boy - have always silently questioning his sexual orientation. When he met Vu, a fine, accomplished boy, Quynh is instantly smitten. Feelings quickly rose and reciprocate. The duo, with Cat - a lively yet sensible girl, form a tight-knit friendship. A youthful vivid summer passing by when everything changes due to one decision by Vu.

THE SUNSET DREAMERS has the personal touch of the filmmaker looking back at his youth, the generation encased in Vietnam’s rapid changes into the new millennium. Innocent hearts, both kind and fragile, collide with the pressures of adulthood in the midst of a rapidly developing society but still retain many prejudices.

This shorts extract many scenes from the script of a feature length project, written since 2015, acting as the initiatory for the cherished long-term project about memories associated with Saigon, where many corners and landmark are fading over the years.
